From cowboy boots to crocs, keds to airforce 1s, platforms to Ren Faire flats – an important facet of Pride is representation, and representation was the goal.

Pride month is in June, but when you’re queer, you’re proud all year! This illustration features 55 different shoes, based on popular, aesthetic, and LGBTQ+ essential shoes, with some unique flair sprinkled on top. From cowboy boots to crocs, keds to airforce 1s, platforms to Ren Faire flats – an important facet of Pride is representation, and representation was the goal.
The careful, collage design and wiggly color palette were also goals! These tapestries are my answer to “I want something to reflect pride and my flag, but the colors don’t match my home” – because I get it. My office is pastel, my flags are so bold! So I had fun with the tones and shades and aimed for a fresh, artful take on each flag!
